The Relationships of Loss, Grief, and Mental Health: Important Realities and Treatment Implications
OVERVIEW:
The purpose of this conference is to explicate the intrinsic roles that loss, grief, and mourning play in mental health. Synthesizing clinical and research findings – plus integrating the psychological, thanatological, and trauma literatures – Dr. Rando will examine both how loss is a major precipitant for a wide variety of mental health disorders, as well as which assessment instruments and intervention strategies promote mental health.
